Reviews and awards for SteelSeries Xai Laser:

English review by PC Gamer (95% - Editor's Choice Award)

"The Xai is in every way equal to the SteelSeries Ikari- the hands-down best gaming mouse of all time that received a whooping 97% in October 2008 - except for one thing: It's ambidextrous, withtwo thumb buttons on each side.

That, as a right-hander, Imuch prefer the contours of the Ikari is rather predictable, but doesn't diminish the Xai's internal hardware, including a laser that picks up more megapixels than my camera and boasts SteelSeries' peerless tracking."

English review by DriverHeaven(Rating: 10/10 - Gold Award)

"In terms of ergonomics, the Xai is fantastic. All toldit is the most comfortable mouse I have used and fits both left and right hands perfectly. [...]"

"All told, the SteelSeriesXai is the most impressive gaming mouse I have ever tested in our labs."

English review by TrustedReviews (Rating: 10/10 - Editor's Choice Award)

"... the SteelSeries Xai is quite simply the best pure gaming mouse we've ever tested."

"Rather than tack on gimmicks like flashing lights and weight systems, SteelSeries has simply taken the basics of a performance mouse and honed them to perfection. Despite being ambidextrous it's incredibly comfortable, tracking is exceptional, and the level of customisation on offer puts other mice to shame."

English review by YARS (Rating: 10/10 - Diamond Y Award)

"SteelSeries go on about how they design tools for esports and the Xai is a primeexample. [...]"

"This is a stunning mouse that any hardcore gamer shouldwant."

English review by PC Shop Talk(Rating: 9.8/10)

"The mouse feels very smooth in contact with the hand and its very easy to set the DPI you desire right away by using the software application or the LCD screen. The extra buttons are very well placed and I did not meetsituations where I would pressthem by mistake."

English review by GotGames (Rating: 9.5/10)

"The Xai is a great general purpose gaming mouse and incorporates a few great innovations which will change the way mice are designed in the future."

English review by Adrenaline Vault (Rating: 4/5)

"At the end of the day, the Razer Mamba may be one of the prettiest gaming mice on the market, but Xai, the new mouse on the block, is a bullyand is determined to eat Mamba's cheese for lunch.

Overall I think Xai's advantages outweigh its few disadvantages, and I strongly recommend it as a lethal weapon for competitive PC gamers that are looking for every possible advantage on the battlefield."

English review by techPowerUp (Rating: 9/10 - Recommended Award)

"SteelSeries has definitely pulled it off again. The Xai laser mouse manages to not only compete, but beat many of the seeminglybetter equipped mice from rivaling brands.

The simple design approachfrom the Ikari has been taken one step further and the two mice SteelSeries are currentlymarketing both feature an ambidextrous design which got to make them one of the top picks among left handed gamers."

English revew by Examiner (Rating: N/A)

"Like virtually all SteelSeries products, the Xai gaming mouse is an unassuming powerhouse that packs a lot offeatures under the hood and some unique features to put itahead of its peers. [...]"

"The Xai is everything a good gaming mouse should be: exact, smooth, comfortable, and almost ridiculously customizable. The Xai moves and feels good under your handand glides flawlessly and accurately."

English review by CrunchGear (Rating: N/A)

"I like the Xai. It's compact, elegant, unpretentious, and effective. While I personally prefer a wireless, right-handed device,I found the straightforward design of the Xai refreshing, and of course its performance is beyond reproach."

English review by Gizmodo (Rating: N/A)

"The form factor is so good it feels almost like an ergonomic mouse."

"If you want a gaming mouse you can use with either hand, I'd say you can't do better than Xai [...]"

English review by CravingTech (Rating: N/A)

"Using just the LCD and the mouse scroll wheel, you can actually change the settings of the mouse on the fly without using its application. This is a new addition to SteelSeries mouse products and I'm sure it will make lots of vendors jealous."

"If you have the money andyou are looking for a great gaming mouse, pick up the Xai.Even when I find the Ikari more comfortable with its unique contour design, Xai is technologically more advanced than the Ikari, a greater CPI,and the ability to change the mouse settings without any software."

English review by RBMODS (Rating: Editor's Choice Award)

"This is a cool mouse I have to admit, it's comfortable to use even thoughit's made for both left and right handed people. I actually ended up replacing myown old mouse with this one for my main setup due to the fact it's so comfortable and very easy to work with."

The Xai is really accurate and totally smooth whatever the using conditions, fast or slow movements, suddenstopping or slow scrolling to follow a target. The Xai is totally customizable with a very precise tuning of the resolution without any software. The Xai is not only dedicated to the gamers, anybody can use it for working, Internet surfing or image working."

French review by Nokytech (Rating: Gold Award)

"Asking for 79.99 euros for a mouse could be a little bit expansive… but SteelSeriesmakes it with the Xai. We haveto admit that this mouse is a total success: Reaction time, easy to use, driverless, ambidextrous, performance, andsoft touch. In brief the Xai is the perfect tool for the pro-gamers, and for anybody looking for accuracy and technology. Absolute weapon? Yes it is."

Danish review by PC World (Rating: 5/6)

"Xai is really a no-nonsense mouse - suitable for both left and right handers, without disco-like LED and futuristic design aesthetics. [...]"

"... The amount of adjustement possibilities is bombastic."

French review by Les Numeriques (Rating: 5/5)

"Our team of left handers love it, but the right handersstill love the Ikari mouse too. The Xai is a mouse with formula 1 technical specifications, but its designis more classical, neutral andambidextrous. The Xai offers agood balance between performances and design, whichmakes it really accurate and easy to use."

Finnish review by Plaza (Rating: None)

"Xai is a surprising and excellent gaming mouse. It fulfills the promises - and saving setups into the memory of the mouse itself is a greatfeature. I especially loved its sensitivity and sharp response time."
